Consultant Internal Medicine

Dr. Seemin Afshan Shiraz is a clinician who has been working in UAE for over twenty years and has special interest in Leadership, Critical Care, Research and Academics. She is a graduate of Fatima Jinnah Medical College, Lahore and holder of Presidential Award of Pakistan during her MBBS. She is the Member of Royal College of Physicians United Kingdom since 2007 after completion of her training in Internal Medicine at Al Qassimi and Kuwait Hospital in Sharjah. She has worked as Specialist Training Registrar in Critical Care at Rashid Hospital Dubai and attained European Diploma in Intensive Care Medicine in 2009.  She is certified for Health Professionals Education. Currently she is practicing at Mediclinic Parkview Hospital, Dubai as Consultant Internal Medicine and specialist in Critical Care Medicine.

Dr. Afshan is affiliated with Mohammed Bin Rashid University as a Clinical Faculty. She has inclination towards academics and research and has been involved in setting up under graduate curriculum, Quality related projects and Research throughout her career. She has been involved in development of Several Clinical Practice Guidelines in various hospitals. She is an excellent teacher, and quite an inspiration to the interns and junior residents. She has been involved in many teaching activities for the medical students, rotating interns and residents, nurses and other fellow physicians. This includes but are not limited to CME activities and Workshops. She has several publications of her research work and review articles in the renowned, peer-reviewed journals.

                      Dr. Afshan has presented her work in posters and has participated as a Speaker in Local and International Medical Conferences, worldwide. Beside her clinical commitments she has been also participating regularly as an Instructor for Adult Cardiac Life Support and Advanced Trauma Life Support Courses. She is one of the pioneers for Pakistan Medical Center Academia and has been actively involved in placement of Medical students at PMC, Public health programs, education of clinicians as well as general Public through webinars and workshops. She has recently been nominated as Director Academics – UAE Chapter by Pakistan Society of Internal Medicine.
